Dr Talat Mushtaq

Dr Talat Mushtaq is a paediatric endocrinologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, UK where he leads the regional paediatric metabolic bone service. His previous research focused on translational studies in growth plate research. Dr Mushtaq has a longstanding commitment to medical education, teaching, and professional training and development. He was chair of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) team that led to the standardisation of care for children with adrenal insufficiency in the UK in 2022. He is presently the Chair of BSPED and the British Paediatric and Adolescent Bone Group (BPABG). These professional organisations aim to improve care, education, and research for children and young people with diabetes, endocrine and bone disorders in the UK.

Prof Raja Padidela

Professor Raja Padidela is a distinguished Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Honorary Clinical Chair at the University of Manchester, widely recognised for his pioneering work in rare paediatric bone and mineral disorders. Based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, he serves as the clinical lead for metabolic bone services and acts as the Deputy Medical Director for the NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility. His career is defined by a commitment to translational research, notably leading ground-breaking clinical trials for conditions like hypophosphatasia and contributing to international clinical guidelines. Beyond his research, Professor Padidela is a key advisor to several patient advocacy groups, including the Williams Syndrome Foundation, where he applies his extensive expertise in growth, puberty, and genetic hormonal disorders to improve long-term outcomes for children.

Prof Justin Davies

Prof Justin Davies is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist at the Regional Centre for Paediatric Endocrinology based at Southampton Children’s Hospital. He leads the Paediatric Rare Bone Disorder service. His research interests include childhood osteoporosis, growth and imprinting disorders. He Co-Chairs the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Growth Disorders Special Interest Group, and is developing a standardised national approach to growth assessment and management of growth disorders. He is a Senior Editor and Section Head for Growth, Growth Hormone and Growth Factors for Endocrine Connections. He was a past Chair of the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and former secretary of the British Paediatric and Adolescent Bone Group.
